Note-taking Strategies – The importance of taking notes in class and how we can do it effectively
We will discuss 4 different methods on how to take notes and apply them to our study habits.

#1 The Cornell Method.

A method used for quick and easy note-taking. Also serves as an excellent tool for memorizing and correcting notes.

#2 The Outlining Method.

A method used to organize information in both a structured and logical manner. This is often viewed as the “skeleton” of the textbook.

#3 The Mapping Method.

A method used to graphically represent information presented to the learner while using several different skills to link key concepts. (Good for visual learners)

#4 Box and Bullet Method.

A method that involves creating several boxes filled with students’ notes and related topics. Boxes can further be divided into various topics or subtopics as the student chooses. (Great way to organize the information)

Focus and Memory – Importance of being able to retain the information we have learned

Test Day- We will discuss how to manage the anxiety of test/exam day and how to achieve our best efforts.
